Mountain Thyme Extract

On the Nairian farm we grow spicy thyme, which we combine with glycerin to create a potent treatment for breakouts. This herbaceous extract boasts a large quantity of the terpene thymol, a light antiseptic that quickly fades blemishes and treats the scalp.

Mountain thyme thrives in sunny environments, so Armenia’s Kotayk Region is the perfect place to grow it. We sow the seeds in the spring, and harvest the leaves in the summer. We combine the thyme with water and glycerin, allow it to sit for a few days, and then evaporate all of the excess water. What remains is a glycerin solution loaded with incredible constituents.  

Skin Benefits 
Thyme extract is an ideal skin clearing ingredient that can help both those with acne prone skin, as well as anyone with a sensitive or problematic scalp. The main constituent in this extract, thymol and carvacrol, can prevent unsightly pimples, which is why we use it in our Moisturizer for Oily Skin. Thymol is also able to keep the scalp healthy, and to prevent signs of dandruff, making it a wonderful addition to our hair care products.
