Nairian is proud to present its first collaboration with TUMO Studios, a nonprofit educational program for university-aged students and young professionals that combines traditional Armenian methods and contemporary design in the creation of analog products.
About the master class
Ten students and three atelier leaders were involved in the creation of these beautiful cosmetic pouches over the course of three weeks.
Guided by École Duperré Paris graduate Sona Hambardzumyan, natural dyeing expert Sveta Khachatryan, and Paris-based photographer Delphine Chanet, the students examined functional and practical product design thinking during the atelier, learned new techniques such as natural dyeing, and participated in the project’s art direction. They also learned how to transform movements into shapes, find inspiration in hugs, and express emotions through accessories.
Each student group created its own unique prototype of the future product, bringing the young artists' artistic vision to life.
ABOUT THE PRODUCT
The final product combines the best elements of all three prototypes: an origami-style foldable design, two loops for 30 ml Nairian products, such as Hand Cream or Spot Treatment Gel, a waterproof soap pocket, and a crocheted compartment that fits our Hand Lotion Bars or other small items.
LIMITED EDITION
Each Nairian x TUMO Studios cosmetic bag is constructed of natural fibers and made entirely by hand. You can choose between the two color options: dyed with indigo for a gorgeous sky-blue finish, or with herbs from the Nairian eco-farm and iron oxide for an all natural, distressed grey color that evokes the rocky landscapes of Armenia.
By purchasing this unique handmade accessory, you support the next generation of Armenian designers.
The profit generated from these pouch sales will be invested in developing the tuition-free TUMO Studios educational platform.
